In environments of this type, the first step is to specify insulators with high specific creepage distance, but this initiative is not always effective, requiring frequent washing of the insulators to remove pollutants.
Such washing is costly, requires special equipment, live-line services, and can cause unwanted shutdowns.

As an accessory added to certain column insulator sheds or to some insulator discs of string, BOOSTER SHED’s, made from HTV hot vulcanized silicone rubber provide the addition of additional creepage distance in addition to making it with highly hydrophobic material, suitable for pollutants.
In this way, with a small investment, BOOSTER SHEDS can be installed in existing insulators that have presented problems of electrical activity (high leakage current, high corona) due to surface contamination from the environment, increasing their insulating properties.
